(Scene: Sabinus arrives at Edu Baby’s shop, looking suspiciously left and right before entering.)
Sabinus: “Madam Edu, I need small help. Please credit me one bag of rice, I will pay tomorrow.”
Edu Baby (folds arms): “Sabinus, the last ‘tomorrow’ you promised me was in 2022. Where is my money?”
Sabinus (smiling): “Ah ah! Madam Edu, are you keeping records of my debts like WAEC results?”
Edu Baby (serious face): “If you don’t bring money, no rice for you!”
Sabinus (thinking fast): “Okay, let me hold the rice first while I go and find the money.”
Edu Baby (laughs): “Sabinus, you want to hold rice without holding money? Are we playing?”
(Sabinus scratches his head when suddenly, his phone rings. He answers and starts shouting immediately.)
Sabinus: “WHAT!? My container just arrived!? Ah! Madam Edu, I will be back, I am now a big businessman!”
(He dashes out, pretending to be in a hurry.)
Edu Baby (laughs and shouts): “Sabinus, you don’t even have a bicycle, which container are you talking about!?”
(The whole shop bursts into laughter as Sabinus runs away, straight into a gutter! Wahala no dey finish!)
His boss rushed out. “Sabinus! Where is the new cable!?”
Sabinus, now sweating bullets, stammered, “Oga… The devil is a liar! The new cable just cut again!”
Before he could blink, his boss removed his slippers. And just like that, Sabinus was on the run!
